PM Surya Ghar Eligibility Criteria

Review these requirements before you apply for the government rooftop solar subsidy.

  • The applicant must be a valid Indian citizen with residential proof and permanent address within scheme area.
  • Must own a house with a rooftop suitable and structurally sound for installing solar panel systems.
  • The household should have a valid electricity connection from the local electricity distribution company (DISCOM).
  • The applicant must not have availed any other government solar subsidy for rooftop solar installations previously.
  • Priority may be given to households with low to middle income, following income criteria based on scheme phase.
